Director, Statutory Accounting


WE OFFER

American Modern Insurance Group is looking for a Director, Accounting Statutory to join our team! You will manage a dynamic team that completes and synthesizes the statutory close across accounting. You will provide support for the internal statutory financial reports for executive, board and regulatory audiences. You will partner with the Director of Statutory Reporting who is responsible for the Annual Statement Generation, managing premium tax and filings, and completion of the Risk-based Capital report and monitoring. This position is hybrid in Cincinnati, Ohio and will report to the AVP, Statutory Accounting.

You will:
  • Lead a team to accomplish statutory reporting and close process
  • Provide analysis and quality control of data and deliverables. Apply financial controls to ensure accurate, financial close activities and business reporting
  • Inspire team in transformational activities to implement data governance and enhanced dashboard reporting
  • Ensure the integrity of transactional data and reporting
  • Develop a process for consolidating and assimilating complex financial data into reports for internal and external purposes
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements; provide research and guidance on a variety of accounting and business issues; operationalize compliance with financial reporting pronouncements

WE EXPECT

  • 10 years of accounting experience in the insurance industry with focus of statutory reporting.
  • Experience of accounting principles and practices, insurance/reinsurance market trends and information, and the analysis of financial data
  • Experience of insurance accounting systems and technology used within your responsibilities
  • Experience of business and management principles involved with strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques and coordination of people and resources
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or another quantitative discipline
  • CPA designation
