Quality Technician

This entry-level position provides those aspiring to a career in the quality assurance and inspection world an opportunity to build their resume with a world-renowned company and set themselves up for a career as an Authorized Inspector, Authorized Nuclear Inspector, or other jobs and experiences within HSB that they will have access to.

As a Quality Technician/Inspector, you will provide inspection services to HSB’s varied customer base, from manufacturers to EPCs. The scope of services can include weld inspections, verification of NDE/NDT results, layout and assembly inspections, surveillance of vendor activities, quality audits, and much more. You will gain a diverse range of experience in this role, performing work in accordance with pre-defined Inspection & Test Plans and Work Orders with the support of a technical supervisor.

This is a project-based position that may require travel for periods of time to locations across the United States. It’s an opportunity to network and interact with people in different industries, companies, and locations while developing experience in the quality inspection business.

The ideal candidate will reside near Carlisle, PA, but the selected applicant can reside anywhere along the I-81 or I-76 corridor, subject to hiring manager approval, for service throughout PA and westward to the Ohio River Valley. WE EXPECT

Experience & Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years’ experience in one or more of the following domains:
    • Quality programs or processes
    • Weld or assembly inspection
    • Preventative maintenance to industrial equipment using pre-defined procedures.

Or
  • One (1) year experience, with an accompanying two-year degree in Engineering/Technology or a diploma from a trade/vocational school with four semesters of course work in one or more of the following domains:
    • Quality programs or processes
    • Weld or assembly inspection
Preventative maintenance to industrial equipment using pre-defined procedures.

Knowledge & Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of weld and assembly inspections.
Ability to perform inspections to guiding documents such as an Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) or Work Orders.
Basic knowledge of quality systems, processes and management.
