We are looking for a Solution Architect in our IT Business Solutions team.
As IT Solution Architect, you will be accountable for the architecture of a diverse range and complex set of projects or programs related specifically to the Global Data Management portfolio. You will also be responsible for delivering Data Management projects (INFORMATICA preferred), working closely with COE Data Management Team and IT Services IT Security & Risk Management, Service Delivery, Application Teams and external managed service providers and vendors globally, to achieve successful project outcomes including the management of diverging interests of various stakeholders.
Your Job
- Support of the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximize the return on technology investment
- Accountability for the development, testing and implementation of Informatica platform capabilities, leveraging existing architectural patterns whenever possible, and reporting on delivery commitments to ensure capabilities are implemented as expected and to agreed timeframes
- Accountability for detailed component specifications and translating these into detailed designs for the Informatica platform
- Responsibility for the implementation of technology solutions and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements to ensure alignment with the enterprise architectural plan
- Responsibility for the adherence to appropriate standards (performance, monitor capability, audit acceptability, secure environment)
- Responsibility for the balance between functional, service quality and systems management requirements
- Usage of appropriate tools, including logical models of components and interfaces, to contribute to the development of systems architectures in specific business or functional areas.
- Managing requirements to the program and platform backlog
- Develop the cloud data integration capability in close collaboration with the platform architect to a multi-cloud based architecture
- Support of the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximize the return on technology investment
Your profile
Successful candidates will possess the following skills/capabilities:- University degree or similar qualification
- Several years of experience in one or more Informatica products: ETL PowerCenter / IDQ, MDM, Data Engineering / Data Engineering Quality, EDC, Axon, EDP, B2B as a platform architect or solution architect. First hands-on experience in Informatica Cloud Services
- Deep knowledge in cloud / service-based architecture based on Azure Technologies (compute / storage / security / monitoring / logging / automation / …)
- Deep knowledge of processes and capabilities required to run a global & distributed platform in a multi-product environment
- Demonstrable experience in data governance, data quality optimization, data pipelining and process modelling, or software development in data-driven initiatives
- Experience in database technologies such as MS SQL, Azure SQL & Big Data solutions (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Databricks,…)
- Experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints.
- Track record of successful implementations that delivered value to the business, resulting in measurable business outcomes
- Deep knowledge about patterns, UML and agile development practices as well as DevOps principles and corresponding technologies (e.g. Azure DevOps)
- Ideally, knowledge of business processes in the re-/insurance industry
- Consulting and collaborative working style creating a culture of accountability and sharing
- A high degree of commitment and the willingness and ability to master a broad spectrum of tasks
- Thought leadership – ability to monitor market trends and to drive creative thinking on future technology capabilities which will help to increase the business value of Munich RE.
- Ability to manage and supervise small to medium sized development & operations teams
- Experienced and motivated to work in a globally distributed team
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Demonstrated a willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required in execution of duties.
