The Opportunity

The Corporate Accountant will support the general ledger and financial system functions and those responsibilities associated with balancing and reconciliation. This position's primary focus will be associated with maintaining the integrity of the underlying general ledger information, which includes processing of manual journal entries into SAP, fixed asset processing, account reconciliations and the reconciliation of various subsystems to the general ledger.
Responsibilities
- Perform General Ledger account analysis and reconciliation for assigned accounts. This includes the preparation and analysis of bank reconciliations, lease and intercompany accounts.
- Maintain Master File information in the SAP Global Template system including requests for new accounts, updates to financial statement versions and supporting documentation.
- Process Manual Journal Entries into SAP Global Template and ensure compliance with company journal policy. Act as a resource to assist others with processing of Journal Entries into SAP Global Template.
- Perform quarterly/year-end General Ledger closing activities including ECON submissions and related journal entries.
- Process activity through Fixed Asset module of SAP.
- Maintain the monthly Fixed Asset process/reporting and prepare ad hoc fixed asset reports as requested.
- Prepare and settle intercompany balances on a quarterly basis.
- Assist with the maintenance of various reporting systems.
- Participate in system projects that impact the General Ledger as assigned.
- Assist with any ledger updates/modifications required to support IFRS.

Your profile
Qualifications- Accounting degree.
- Knowledge of accounting principles with 3 to 5 years’ experience preferred.
- Knowledge of reinsurance or insurance preferred.
- Knowledge of General Ledger and SAP Systems preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Good communication skills.
- Works well in a team.
- Well organized and ability to work under tight timeframes.
- Ability to put in extra hours when needed, primarily during quarter close.
- Ability to problem solve.
