The Opportunity

We are looking for an IT Risk Technical Specialist to be part of the IT Security Services Delivery (ITSSD) team, focused on defending Munich Re companies from cyber-attack and maintain operations of the security tools. Candidate must be a seasoned IT Security Operations professional with a deep background in IT security comprised of security solutions, products and security processes in a large scale environment with exposure to regulatory issues. You will support several technologies and operational processes to protect company information and assets from unauthorized access, misuse, modification, destruction and disruptions of services.
The position will be a key representative of the ITSSD ensuring the delivery of security services sitting in the Americas region. The candidate will be primarily aligned with our Global Endpoint Security service line, with immediate responsibility for being a technical expert for our Certificate Management services. The candidate will also support services in the ITSSD such as Vulnerability Management and Endpoint (Antimalware). The candidate must have expert operational experience and demonstrated successful operational delivery as an IT Security specialist.
As IT Risk Technical Specialist (MRAS), you’ll:
- Be a global operations technical analysts on the Global Endpoint Security service line team, comprised of both outsourced and in-house resources.
- Understand threats to technology systems/services availability and methods to protect against loss of availability of services
- Be part of operations team of the global Certificate Management services
- Oversee the monitoring, identification and resolution of potential security incidents through daily process like monitoring expirations, troubleshooting certificate issues, supporting the customer, monitoring licensing, certificate credits.
- Need to have an understanding of antimalware technologies and operations of antimalware tools
- Perform tasks like but not limited, incident support for certificate management, root cause analysis, process improvement, monitoring domains, work with technical administrators to support certificate issues
- Required to have an understanding of vulnerability management process and technology
- Be a key contributor to the functions, processes, and operations to support other services within the team and ensure policies, procedures, and objectives align with company goals
- Monitor key performance indicators, determine gaps in performance metrics, and recommend/execute change management techniques for efficiency/quality improvements
- Interface with business operations teams, especially globally, to address security gaps and handle regional security incidents
- Lead the implementation of new security technologies and monitor technical security systems to protect the Company
- Provide advice and guidance to ensure adoption of and adherence to information assurance architectures, strategies, policies, standards and guidelines
Your profile
Successful candidates will possess the following skills/capabilities:- IT degree or equivalent combination of related work experience desired
- 5+ years of experience in the Cyber Security field required
- Very good knowledge of complex IT organizations and experience with security-relevant topics, security technologies and a related knowledge of the market
- Prior Certificate Management experience required
- Understanding of HSM, Public Key, Private Key, Certificate Authority, Certificate Revocation and Certificate Store
- Strong knowledge of how malware works and the tools need to detect it
- Knowledge of EDR technologies
- Understand TLS and SSL protocols
- Prior Vulnerability Management experience
- Understanding of ticketing systems, identifying, evaluating, mitigation and reporting
- Strong planning, organizational and presentation skills
- Highly result oriented and structured
- Ability to build teams and strong skills in the management of internal and external relationships, also extensive experience in an international context
- Very good command of English, both spoken and written
