Role Location: New York, Princeton, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Hartford or ChicagoThe Delivery Manager will lead Data Operations’ daily execution to effectively prioritize and deliver on critical data needs across the organization while managing a global team of Data and BI Engineers. This role will communicate proactively and manage trade-offs, while building trust across all MRSI units and functions, including underwriting, service delivery, corporate underwriting, finance, IT, et al.
Major Accountabilities:
- Utilize your background in data engineering, BI engineering/development, and data analysis to coach and develop data operations team members in corresponding roles.
- Lead, manage and coach your team of data professionals, developing top talent and creating an attractive proposition for employees and external hires.
- Articulate the link between the company’s data-related technical capabilities and business needs, in order to ensure the organization understands the value of data-driven solutions.
- Proactively manage data operations support demand against available capacity, prioritize effectively, and leverage lean management techniques to deliver efficient support aligned with prioritization. Model data-driven decision making within data operations and across MRSI businesses and functions.
- Understand what data is available for the enterprise and how it can be leveraged to support the organization’s missions.
- Ensure that MRSI business colleagues have efficient access to data and the necessary tools to independently leverage the data, draw insights and derive actionable information.
- Communicate effectively across organizational, technical and political boundaries, understanding the context. You can advocate and communicate what the team does to create trust and authenticity. You know how to successfully react and respond to challenge.
- Maintain relationships with members of the organization who perform analytics work to understand their needs and find ways to improve their capabilities and output quality.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 7+ years of data engineering, BI development/engineering, and/or data architecture experience.
- 7+ years of applicable insurance experience.
- Experience in the execution of data initiatives, leading to the development of useful insights and the improvement of a business’s performance and growth.
- Technical knowledge paired with business acumen – find ways to leverage the data the company has available to solve business problems.
- Collaborative personality – work with other members of the organization to drive business value.
- Technical and management ability to lead a team of data and BI engineers to help design and implement an efficient and credible flow of data across the organization utilizing industry best practices.
- Strong technical background and understanding of data architecture and how it can be leveraged.
- Strong communication skills to articulate value of data to different business leaders.
- Experience creating business value from data analysis.
