Munich Re Syndicate Group (MRSG) are looking for a Finance Specialist to join our dynamic team! Supporting the Finance ambition to become an automated process led department, through process standardization, application of new technology, digitisation and automation opportunities.

You will partner with the business in delivering financial transparency and add value by enhancing business outcomes through the production of quality data, information and effective insight.

Your job

Responsibilities Quality assurance & process development

We will work together on:

Underwriting data quality assurance process, including knowledge of data sources, structures and effectively handling system changes which match the pace of business changes

The Annual Accounting Model (AAM) process including quality assurance (QA) of UW ratio’s, production of the results via the AAM tool including upload and validation of results to the sub ledger and presentation of those results to management (actuals/forecast/plan).

The Value Based Management (VBM) process with MR Group supporting Annual Planning, Forecast and Year End deliveries that include calculations, reconciliations, production of internal management reports, coordination with other MR Group units and commentary for management.

Preparation, coordination and delivery of the Lloyd’s Syndicate Business Plan

Ensuring all processes are documented effectively, detailing areas of financial judgement

Managing tasks within agreed timetable including booking relevant review meetings with management

Critically apprais all processes and assumptions on an ongoing basis with a ‘continual improvement outlook’ and proactively engage with relevant business partners to improve.

Reporting & Analysis

You are responsible for:

All key internal management reporting which includes but is not limited to UW targets, Finance Sub Committee papers & Board papers.

Collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders in the business across all key functions to provide quality insights that lead to more informed decision making.

Developing and enhancing the business partnering function to support and provide quality financial analysis to the UW department.

Assisting in other areas with the team where appropriate and any other ad-hoc task as assigned including project work and investigative reviews where required.

Helping drive forward good conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers and policyholders.
