Munich Re Specialty Group North America (MRSG N.A.) is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join us as we grow. As part of Munich Re Group, we are a unique organization providing expertise in specialty and marine lines of insurance as well as surety risks and customs bonds with in-house claims solutions.
We are seeking a full time, Business Development Executive to join the Roanoke Insurance Group division reporting to the SVP, Business Development.
Job Profile
- Generate, validate and pursue new leads and referrals
- Maintain and further develop relationships with assigned accounts and prospects
- Maintain strong relationships with underwriters and service teams
- Establish a regular call cycle consisting of both on site and virtual contacts
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of core product lines and serve as the insurance coverage expert to clients
- Effectively identify and communicate exposures and risk transfer solutions to clients & prospects
- Develop business plans to meet assigned goals and communicate progress using various systems/tools
- Work effectively and independently in a virtual environment
- Coordinate with operations in managing overall client service needs
- Attend any internal/external pre-renewal or prep meetings with service teams
- Submit information to market(s); receive and review quotes; compose proposals as needed
- Understand the concepts, issues, and overall impact of market pricing
- Set up and conduct proposal meetings with clients
- Participate in various local and national industry functions and events, to represent Roanoke’s interests
- Demonstrate professional and tactful negotiation skills to achieve objectives
- Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels of responsibility
- Demonstrate understanding of when to proceed alone and when to involve the Regional Vice President or other colleagues
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Executive Risk coverages and services
- Property & Casualty insurance license in home domicile state
- Substantial experience in marketing and servicing insurance needs of commercial accounts
- Expanded insurance industry knowledge through experience and/or course work
- Proven ability to organize and manage time in order to meet deadlines
- Ability to instill confidence with clients
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software products
- High aptitude for mathematical calculations including multiplication, division, and percentages

MRSG N.A. is the holding company for Roanoke Insurance Group (RIG) and Munich Re Specialty Group Insurance Services (SIS) located throughout 7 locations in the United States and Canada with over 250 employees.
SIS provides insurance to retail and wholesale insurance brokers in North America. Specialty lines include ocean and inland marine, cyber tech E&O, terrorism, active assailant & political violence.
RIG operates as a specialty insurance broker focused on surety, insurance and related offerings for logistics service providers, customs brokers and companies with supply chains.
